Units in radioecology in the natural environment


The Laboratory for Continental and Marine Radioecological Studies (LERCM) is located on two sites, Cadarache and La Seyne sur Mer, both in the south of France. The laboratory has a work force of 19. It studies the behavior of radionuclides, particularly in the continental environment of metropolitan France and in the Mediterranean marine environment.
 
The Cherbourg-Octeville Radioecology Laboratory, formerly is located at Octeville near Cherbourg at the northern tip of the Cotentin peninsula. It has a work force of 15. LRC's work is to study the behavior of radionuclides, more particularly in the marine environment of the north-eastern Atlantic area, and in the continental environment of north-western France.
