PhD proposals 2018


PhD proposals at the IRSN laboratories for the 2018 academic year



Each year, IRSN hosts PhDs in its research units in the various disciplines of the Institute.

A majority of PhD students have a doctoral contract financed or co-financed by the Institute. The other PhD students benefit from external funding (Ministry of Research, projects...).

PhD students are welcomed on one of the IRSN sites (Cadarache, Fontenay-aux-Roses, Saclay, Orsay, Cherbourg), in one of the joint laboratories (Montpellier Mist, C3R Lille, Etic Marseille) or more rarely in a partner's laboratory as part of a collaboration agreement.


Conditions of eligibility

To benefit from a thesis financing, you must hold a Master's degree (mention highly recommended) or an equivalent diploma allowing enrollment in a doctoral school, before the month of October of the current year.

In the case of diploma equivalence, the authorization of registration with the doctoral school associated with the subject will have to be verified before the assembly of the application file.

Applicants must be under 26 years old. Exceptionally, this limit may be derogatory.​



Thesis selection process

To apply, you must identify a research topic proposed by one of IRSN's laboratories. If you are interested and that it corresponds to your profile, you must contact the tutor of the thesis by email, by sending him a CV and a letter of application. If your profile attracts his attention, he will indicate the steps to take for the continuation of your application.

We draw your attention to the fact that the posted subject proposals are still subject to validation by the IRSN Thesis Commission. A limited number of thesis offers can be withdrawn by the beginning of March.​



Funding

The amount of the doctoral contract awarded by the IRSN is of the order of 2040 € gross monthly during the first two years and 2090 € gross monthly the third year.

For some proposed topics related to external funding, this amount may be different.​
