After the Chernobyl nuclear accident, non cancerous pathologies were described in humans living in contaminated territories. To evaluate if any pathologies are due to early radionuclide contamination, we developed (as part of the Envirhom research program) rat models chronically exposed to 137Cs - the most persistent radionuclide in these territories - through drinking water (6500 Bq/l).
