Structural Performance Analysis and Modeling Laboratory (LMAPS) aims to better understand and quantify the performance of structures and equipment playing a major role for nuclear safety, whether these installations already exist or are in the design phase.
The videos below (© IRSN) are intended to demonstrate the LMAPS' ability to perform advanced simulations to describe the structural response of buildings when subjected to earthquakes at the scale of the ‘nuclear island’. In addition, these videos present qualitative images on which the movements have been greatly amplified for demonstration purposes.
