Collaboration of the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (NPI AS CR) with French dosimetry research laboratories had started in 70th's. During many years it was concentrated to the items related to neutron dosimetry. First studies concerned the use of thermoluminescent detectors (TLD's) in neutron-gamma mixed fields (Spurný et al., 1976). Afterwards, the studies were oriented particularly to the neutron dosimetry with track etched and other detectors (Spurný et al., 1987 ; Portal et al., 1986). These studies were realized in collaboration with the Dosimetry Service of the IRSN and the team of Limoges University (Spurný et al., 1995). Since the beginning of 90th's, the collaboration of NPI with French dosimetry research laboratories has focused to the topics related to the exposure to the natural radiation of both terrestrial and cosmic origin.
