The goal of this paper is to enlighten the main developments of the MORET 4 code in the last few years:

  • The evolution of the geometry description thanks to the modularity and to the new array descriptions capabilities:
    • the “kits” approach for the geometry making is an original way to improve the efficiency of users to build and check their criticality safety models: elementary volumes can be used to create particular parts of the geometry, called “modules”, which can be used in their turn as sub-systems of other modules or of the whole geometry,
    • the geometry innovations allow to model rectangular or triangular pitch arrays, delimited by volumes of any shape. The modularity allows to describe several arrays and arrays in arrays.
  • The creation of a powerful post-processing toolbox called OPOSSUM, written in JAVA, with advanced GUIs to help users to analyze the MORET calculations result. It allows to:
    • view the motion of fissions sites during the simulation,
    • determine the well-done stationarity,
    • display cross-sections, fluxes, reaction rates, k-effective estimations…
