Patrice Bueso is appointed Director of Strategy, Development and Partnerships of the Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN). He took office on 15 September, 2018. Since 2009, he was in charge of research coordination and programming at the Ministry for Ecological and Inclusive Transition.
Born in 1968, Patrice Bueso graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ponts et Chaussées, France. The first part of his career he worked at international level for the National Geographic Institute before he became Head of the Research Department.
In 2009 he joined the Ministry of Sustainable Development to work as Deputy Head of the Research Department, the department's mission is to bring out and develop scientific communities whose expertise contributes to the development of the ministry’s public policies. Being the scientific adviser to the minister was an important part of his function.
In addition, Patrice Bueso has greatly contributed to the research programming of the National Research Agency and to the promotion of research, at national level in connection with the alliance of research AllEnvi and at international level representing France in the "Action for Climate" Programme Committee of Horizon 2020, the European Research and Innovation Framework Programme.
