Substances released from nuclear power plants into aquatic ecosystem were screened in function of their toxicity and bioavailability to aquatic organisms. On this basis, 4 substances were chosen to point up potential interactions among liquid releases: 2 radioactive substances (b and ? emitters, 3H,
137Cs) and 2 chemicals (Cu, Hydrazine).
Representative binary mixtures of these substances will be studied to determine possible interaction between them, using appropriate experimental design and statistical analysis.
Our objective is to assess combined effects of these subtances on aquatic organisms, using an unicellular green alga as test organism
