Main lessons learnt from the Phebus FP programme and follow-up

The Phebus FP programme was conducted by IRSN in the frame of a wide international collaboration to improve knowledge in the field of LWR severe accidents. It addresses core degradation, fission product (FP) release from fuel, FP and aerosol transport in the Reactor Cooling System (RCS), their behaviour in the containment and iodine chemistry. Novel and unique information has been gained, and most important aspects are synthesized in this paper.
