Summary

The experiments from Balazy and al. (2004) and Van Gulijk and al. (2004) show a decrease of filter collection efficiency for particles under 25 nm. For the authors, that can be explained by the effects of thermal rebound and resuspension of the already deposited particles. A study is carried out at the IRSN to confirm or not this hypothesis. The test bench is described; it allows the measurement of the collection efficiency of several types of filter media using aerosols from 3 to 40 nm. Experimental results are presented and compared to theoretical value as well as other experimental values found in the literature.
