Résumé

  The EVIDOS program research (“Evaluation of Individual Dosimetry in Mixed Neutron and Photon Radiation Fields”) funded by EC under contract FIKR-CT-2001-00175, aims at a significant improvement of radiation protection dosimetry in mixed neutron/photon fields by spectrometric and dosimetric investigations in representative neutron/photon workplaces in the nuclear industry.

During a first phase of the EVIDOS project, different workplaces in Europe were selected for dosimetry and spectrometry measurements as they are considered to be representative of nuclear industry workplaces. A calibration campaign has been performed at the IRSN facility “Canel” simulating realistic neutron spectra similar to some of those encountered in workplaces. Two measuring campaigns were carried out in 2003. The first measuring campaign took place at the power plant at Krümmel (Germany). Spectrometry measurements were performed nearby a transport flask containing irradiated fuel elements and in the building of the boiling water reactor of this plant. The second campaign took place in Belgium, in the VENUS research reactor (SCK-CEN, Mol, BE) and in a MOX fuel element processing factory (Belgonucléaire, Mol, BE).

IRSN contributes to the EVIDOS project by providing reference spectrometry measurements in those different workplaces, but also by performing dosimetry measurements with the EPD Saphydose-n device. This paper mainly aims to present the spectrometry measurements and results obtained with a Bonner spheres system (BSS) at the four different kinds of representative workplaces.
